The Lithium battery will hold it's charge while in storage for up to ten years and will operate the unit for up to 14 hours, twice as long as the rechargeable batteries. (Note however, the rechargeable Nickel Cadmium batteries will hold it's charge for up to a year.) Because it is so important that the seal between the face and the mask is never broken, consider the drinking kits and any other accessories provided by the manufacturer. When it comes to gas masks, money saved translates into a lost life. You don't get a second chance to protect your life.
