REMEMBER
THE ATOMIC BOMB THAT WAS DROPPED ON HIROSHIMA?
There has been growing concern over the possibility that there
are "forward" nuclear weapons in the United States,
in the hands of terrorist operatives and the
"underground" is buzzing with talk of a new
high-level threat called "American Hiroshima"
Don't like the sound of that? Well, no one does. But this is
not the usual "bla-bla-bla" of extremists, kooks or
doomsayers.
CRAZY TALK COMING FROM THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY
This 'buzz' is altogether different: it is coming from the
"intel" sector. There are a number of high-level
intelligence folks that are really worried and anxious.
According to captured al-Qaida leaders and documents, the plan
is called the "American Hiroshima" and involves the
multiple detonations of nuclear weapons already smuggled into
the U.S. over the Mexican border with the help of the MS-13
street gang and other organized crime groups.
That would not be so scary except the anniversary for the
atomic bomb known affectionately as "Little Boy"
dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, at 08:17am, was on Aug. 6, 1945 -
60 years ago.
THE HIROSHIMA BOMBING QUICK FACTS
The bomb had a nominal yield (explosive power) of 13 kilotons,
it all but vaporized the city in a mile diameter at ground
zero from the blast and thermal effects of the bomb, killing
45,000 people on the first day. The direct radiation and
fallout radiation killed another 27,000 within four months.
Because the bomb was detonated at a high altitude (600
meters), the bomb did not pick up huge amounts of dust and
debris so the deadly effects from fallout were small (about
5%). In other words, this was not designed to be a
fallout-type
detonation.
WHAT IF?
IF the bomb would have been detonated on or near the ground,
the fallout effects would have been much worse. Exactly how
much? No one really knows, but all experts agree that the
deaths from fallout may have been as much as 50% more,
depending on the weather and detonation location.
IF the bomb(s) would
have been detonated near a Nuclear Power Plant, well, this is
impossible, isn't it? There were no Nuclear Power Plants in
existence at the time
*like there are now*.
(This
article from the BBC in England states that the
prime target on 9/11 was a Nuclear Power plant, not the
towers.)
IF one considers the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power
plant, that particular event is considered by experts to have
poisoned the entire Northern Hemisphere.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN A NUCLEAR EMERGENCY?
So, what is the "moral to this story"? What you
should do is make simple preparations for emergencies - any
emergency. You can be clever and do most of it yourself. Don't
wait until it's too late.
If you do not have medical supplies,
then stock some. There are many place online to get them. One
is called Homeland Security Products (http://HomelandSecurityProductsusa.com) and they
have links to others as well.
